About Us

The Board Internship (TBI) is a joint initiative of Korus Connect and CMA which matches selected applicants with the boards of well-governed Christian organisations around Australia and with respected and experienced mentors.

The Opportunity

CMA’s members comprise an enormous cross-section of Christian leaders in Australia, representing churches, charities, schools and everything in between. And when we talk to our members, two of the most consistent concerns from them are:

“Where is the next generation of Christian board members to carry on the vision of our church/charity/school coming from?”

“How do we get fresh ideas and connect with the next generation?”.

At the same time, we look around us and see active, committed, smart and eager Millennial Christians (between 22 and 35 years old) just itching to make a difference for the Kingdom, but who don’t have any experience in governance of Christian organisations.

How do we put them together?

Korus Connect has been successfully operating a Board Internship program for several years now, inviting selected Millennial Christians onto its Board as interns, providing one-on-one mentors and experience of how a real live Board operates. Indeed, the program has been so successful that Korus has taken on two of the graduates as long term Board members!

So CMA and Korus have decided to get together to supercharge this program and offer it across Australia as the premier training ground for Millennials who want to help set the vision and strategy for Christian organisations into the future and for the thousands of Christian organisations who need that input.

The Board Internship

The Board Internship is a joint initiative of Korus Connect and CMA which matches selected applicants with the boards of well-governed Christian organisations around Australia and with respected and experienced mentors who will mentor them for a year. Our prayer is that this program will create a pool of committed, trained and eager young Christians who are equipped to serve God’s organisations as Board members and Chairs now and into the future.

About CMA

CMA (Christian Ministry Advancement) is a national ministry focused on helping Christian organisations become more effective in areas of governance, leadership and management. A vital part of CMA is the CMA Standards Council which aims to build faith and trust in Christian organisations by publicly accrediting Christian churches, schools, charities and other ministries which meet high standards of good governance, transparency and accountability.

Good Boards are made up of good Board members, so we are passionate about training and equipping Christian Board members. To learn more about the CMA Standards Council, visit www.cmasc.net.au
